Sailboat

The paper used is recycled coffee filters, washed, acid neutralized, dried, pressed and cut by hand. Each used coffee filter is a memory of cozy moments with your morning coffee, a nice start to a new day. I like the idea that there are traces of both everyday life and care in each work of art, each print has its own story.

This linocut is inspired by a beautiful wooden sailing vessel from 1905 – which still glides quietly along the Norwegian coast.

The work carries the scent of sea breeze, history and quiet craftsmanship, and is a tribute to timeless journeys and the enduring spirit of those who keep old boats alive.
