The first dandelion. Hand-colored DGA. 2025. Size A3 format.

Each DGA version is painted and given its original expression. Signed and limited edition.

The first Dandelion stands as a symbol of courage and strength – of life that finds its way through hardship, of hope that sprouts in unlikely places.

This hand-painted graphic is drawn first as a digital artwork and then painted on with various details.

The artwork is inspired by a young woman who fought a courageous battle against cancer and left this world far too soon.

Her strength and goodness touched me deeply – and she became a source of inspiration for the artwork The First Dandelion.

We don't always know who will inspire us, what will move us, or how powerful a quiet courage can be.

The title is reminiscent of the dandelion's ability to break through asphalt, and yet stand there – simple, yet disturbing.

I also thought of the children's song "The First Dandelion" by Alf Prøysen, about the little flower that only wants to be seen where it stands between the earth and the mud.

Maybe it's like that with humans too – that we, without realizing it, can bring light and comfort to others just by being there.

Digital Graphic Art (DGA) are limited edition, numbered and signed artworks created digitally. The finished product is printed at the local Skag Design and Printing As on environmentally friendly Paperwise paper made from waste from leaves and stems. I proudly support local suppliers and environmentally friendly initiatives.
